FRIDAY is a program to update your FILES.BBS with the new nodediff/nodelist
/fidonews (and lots of other names now) filenames each week.
Friday 0.01
───────────
Huh? Was there an earlier version I missed? Yes, Friday 0.01 was initially
released in June 1990. It required changing to the directory FILES.BBS was
in, and only worked with NODEDIFF and NODELIST and was the 1st version.
WhatsNew with Friday 0.10:
──────────────────────────
* Updates FILES.BBS with Nodediff/Nodelist filenames
* Updates FILES.BBS with Fidonews filenames
* Updates FILES.BBS with AnyName Nodelist filenames that follow a .Xnn format
* Works with any valid DOS subdirectory pathname on the commandline
* Does not update FILES.BBS if already up-to-date
WhatsNew with Friday 2.00:
──────────────────────────
* Friday works just as it has before. No changes are needed that would
otherwise "break" your batchfiles! New features just require new /
commands.
* Supports Offset day from Friday if Net Nodelist is created on other
days. Friday /O2 Rbbslist C:\Ra\Bbsfiles (RBBSlist is generated on
Sundays; Sunday = Friday + 2 days)
* Supports unarchived lists (.nnn) where nnn is the 3 digit julian date.
* Supports alternate Files List name. If your BBS Software does not use
FILES.BBS - you can now tell Friday which file to read/update by
setting the FRIDAY environment variable from DOS with the command:
SET FRIDAY=FILENAME.EXT (Example: SET FRIDAY=FILES.DIR)
Note: If you use FILES.BBS, naturally, you won't need the FRIDAY
environment variable as shown above, as Friday DEFAULTS to
FILES.BBS.
* Supports most weekly news letters! Just tell Friday what list to process:
Friday /Fsnews - look for Snews???.*
Friday /Fanews - look for Anews???.*
Friday /FAnylist - Friday will update ANYTHING within a 2 - 7 character
limit. Naturally, 1 or 8 characters are not supported.
* Fixed Year Rollover bug! :-) If Friday was run after the first of the
year, it wouldn't work too well if the prior nodelist date was last year.
Now it does.
WhatsNew with Friday 2.01:
──────────────────────────
* Fixed the .A00 bug. If the Julian Day was 100, 200, 300, etc, Friday
didn't catch the 10's digit. Most of you got .A:0 - it's fixed.
* Fixed the /N bug when it went from say .194 to .201. Friday was still
looking for the .1?? file and naturally didn't find it when the .2??
came in. Friday 2.01 now handles these okay. Right Bob? :-)
* Fixed a small problem with the /fname command, it wasn't lining up properly
with certain names.
* Added /J command for arJ support.
The Friday 2.01 program comes in 2 flavors. The Friday.Exe is an 808X XT
version, and the Fri286.Exe is the 80X86 (286/386/486) AT version. If you
are going to use the 286 version, just delete the Friday.Exe and rename the
Fri286.Exe file to Friday.Exe and you will be in business. The Friday 2.01
80X86 version displays "FRIDAY 2.01 (286)" in the logo so you will know which
version you are running.
The latest version can always be obtained by using the magicname FRIDAY when
using File Requests with your Mailer if you are a FIDONET node from the
following systems:
The Gateway Net BBS - 1:2270/233.0@fidonet - 14400 HST/V.32bis/V.42bis
The Black Star BBS - 1:2270/443.0@fidonet - 14400 HST/V.32bis/V.42bis
The Boomtown BBS - 1:2270/868.0@fidonet - 14400 HST/V.32bis/V.42bis
It will also be available at an SDS Node near you under SOFTDIST.
Please read Friday.Doc - it goes into all the details of my program.
thanks ...
